Since moving to Norway's rural west coast, Julia, the founder of ONE NODE has been deeply inspired by nature, the traditions and cultural heritage. The stunning landscape and the craftsmanship of the people have sparked the very foundation of ONE NODE— a brand that wouldn’t exist without this place, its history, and its people.
In early 2021, Julia envisioned a way to celebrate this heritage with a catwalk show, inviting local craftspeople, artists, and international designers to join in. Her connection to the community deepened when, in February 2022, she was offered a studio space in Selje by Uniform Partner AS, at a former shirt factory operating since 1948. This space became a cornerstone of ONE NODE, linking the past to the present.
The iconic Selje uniform shirt, a symbol of the local legacy, became Julia's canvas for transformation. She infused it with prints inspired by traditional knitting patterns—an homage to the Norwegian culture, where knitting is both a labor of love and a piece of cultural history. These patterns, made of dots or ‘nodes,’ reflect the interconnectedness of tradition, place, and innovation—just as ONE NODE is itself a point of connection between old and new.
The brand's aesthetic honors the classic forms of this region’s rich heritage while exploring new ways to tell the story through texture, print, and design.
